During the first one-day international match between India and New Zealand, which took place on Tuesday in Indore, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli enjoyed a touching moment on the field as the latter celebrated the former’s remarkable century.

It was Rohit Sharma first century in a One-Day International match in over three years, with his most recent one coming against Australia in Bengaluru in 2019 — a long time ago.

Shortly after reaching his century, Rohit Sharma was out of the game and on his way to the locker room when he was congratulated by Virat Kohli, who was entering the room at the same time.

On the field of play, the two seasoned cricketers shared a fun moment together, and photographs of their friendship quickly went viral across all of the various social media platforms.

In India’s third and final one-day international match against New Zealand, which took place on Tuesday, Rohit Sharma delivered his first one-day international century in three years, and Shubman Gill extended his torrid run to power India to 385 for nine.

As Rohit (101 runs off 85 balls) reached the three-figure mark for the first time since January 2020, the two batted together to produce a ferocious opening partnership of 212 runs. Gill (112 out of 78) achieved his fourth century in an ODI.

Lockie Ferguson was bowled by Gill, and in the eighth over, Gill scored 22 runs off of him by hitting four fours and a six. This represents the kind of form that the 23-year-old has been in recently.

The child didn’t even need to time the ball for it to run all the way to the boundary because it did it on its own. After scoring three fours, he hit the short ball for an upper-cut six to complete the innings.

When he drove the ball square off extra cover for a beautiful four, he brought up the landmark score of fifty for the team. A few overs later, Rohit too reached his fifty by hitting a flat six over Mitchell Santner’s head. This lifted the score to 50 for both of them.

The relatively inexperienced New Zealand bowling team was unable to find any solutions to the problems caused by the Indian openers due to the fast outfield and the flat pitch.

India reached the score of 200 runs quickly because to Rohit Sharma and Gill, who combined for 22 fours and 11 sixes.

Both Rohit and Gill completed their hundred in the same over (the 26th), with their strike rates being identical to one another. To complete his century, Rohit raced out from the field to deep square. After hitting three more balls, Gill reached the century mark, which was his third in as many innings.
