The star Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has finally responded to the months-long topic of whether he will participate in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Rohit recently assured a Make-A-Wish child that he would be willing to participate in the upcoming 50-over World Cup.
Following his retirement from Test cricket in May of this year and from T20Is after India’s 2024 World Cup victory, Rohit’s future in ODIs had been a hot topic. In the format, the 38-year-old said he has unresolved business.
“When is the next one-day World Cup?” the child asked Rohit Sharma.
“2027” is Rohit Sharma.
The kid: “Are you going to play it” ?

One of the first players to hit the nets when India arrived in Perth was Rohit Sharma.
When India lost to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, the Nagpur native nearly won the trophy thanks to his outstanding leadership and aggressive batting at the top. Shubman Gill has taken over as the ODI captain in the interim. However, for the forthcoming ODI series against Australia, both Virat Kohli and Rohit have been kept on.
Rohit will make his comeback to international cricket following India’s Champions Trophy victory earlier this year in the forthcoming three-match ODI series, which starts on October 19 at Perth’s Optus Stadium. Notably, his preparation has made headlines; according to sources, he has lost around 10 kg while undergoing a hard training program with Abhishek Nayar, the former assistant coach for India.
