'He was a khadoos kind of a player'—Rohit Sharma describes Gautam Gambhir's character

As a player and head coach, Rahul Dravid has always been well-known for his composed manner; nevertheless, Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India, does not share this trait. In any aspect of the cricket world, Gambhir, who was named head coach in July of this year, has always been regarded as having a strict and unflappable demeanor.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India for both Test and ODI cricket, recently discussed Gambhir’s mental toughness on the field and alluded to the fact that he carries that same perseverance into his coaching.

“We’ve noticed a shift in coaching. Rahul bhai was there before. Our coach right now is Gautam Gambhir. He was the type of player that was Khadoos (stubborn). “He had some fantastic innings in hard games,” Rohit said, according to NDTV Sports.

Although the term “khadoos” has a bad connotation due to its usage in common parlance, it actually refers to being obstinate and taking pleasure in one’s ability to play in a positive and almost resolute way. In the Mumbai cricket community, the word is frequently used. It would be accurate to refer to Rohit as a khadoos cricketer.

I’ll say anything I have to say about that: Rohit Sharma

Additionally, Rohit is known for employing several slang terms on the field to keep players engaged in high-stress scenarios.

“I play to bring out the best in other people. I’ll say anything I have to say about that. Everyone in the Indian dressing room is motivated because of the environment,” Rohit continued.

After losing their first series together as coach and captain against Sri Lanka, Gambhir and Rohit’s relationship did not start off well.

But things are going well for their partnership in the Test arena so far. India has a 1-0 advantage over Bangladesh in the two-match series.
