Shah praised India’s performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, even though they lost in the final, while speaking at the opening of the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. He expressed his conviction that India will win the next Twenty20 World Cup in 2024, with Sharma leading the team.
“People had been waiting for me to talk about the 2023 ODI World Cup. We might have lost the ODI World Cup final in 2023. However, by winning hearts, we managed to win ten straight games. At the naming ceremony of Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, Jay Shah declared, “I am confident that India will win the 2024 T20I World Cup under Rohit Sharma.”
