'One or two knocks won't change my mind'- Rohit Sharma after Cuttack's century in 2nd ODI vs England

With a magnificent match-winning century in the second ODI at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Rohit Sharma finally found his form. With 119 off just 90 deliveries, he helped India chase down a massive total of 304 against England and win the series with one game remaining at the Motera.

During his innings, the captain of India hit 12 fours and seven sixes, making an otherwise outstanding English bowling attack look insignificant. It was a classic knock that demonstrated the Hitman’s skill. In a newly released video by the BCCI, Rohit addressed all of the criticism directed at his form prior to this match, discussing his performances, journey, and strategy for the game.

People have been playing for a long time and have scored a lot of runs. That has some significance. It just involves going out there and doing your things, and what I did today was one of my things. I’ve been playing this game for a while, so I know what’s expected of me. To me, it was simply about carrying out my routine. Bat the way I do.

“Try to bat the way I do,” Rohit Sharma stated in the BCCI-released video.

“I’ve stayed here long enough.” I won’t be convinced by one or two blows. Another day at work, nothing special. Alright, we have to perform our job. We just have to go out there and do our best, and you know that’s what counts when you bat today,” he continued.

32 ODI tons later, Rohit Sharma is still the man with a plan and a clear mind 🧠

At the end of the video, he discussed the mindset required to score runs and said that it was all about having fun.

You have done something correctly when you have scored a lot of runs. You simply must return to that. that attitude of “how to score runs, how to get runs.” Although it seems quite easy, it is actually very challenging. But it was only about having fun, in my opinion. The Player of the Match concluded, “Enjoy the game more than anything else; that is why we play the sport.”

In addition to marking his 32nd century in the ODI format, Rohit’s maiden century in 338 days and 28 innings marked the end of his international drought.
