“In this World Cup, Associate team is beating Test-playing countries.” - Rohit Paudel confident about Sri Lanka match

Before facing Sri Lanka on June 12 in Florida, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel is upbeat. Reminding everyone that there have been many shocks from the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup, the youthful player said he expects Nepal to cause problems for Test-playing nations in the same way that they have for associate nations against Sri Lanka. Prior to their encounter, the twenty-one-year-old mentioned that Sri Lanka would be under pressure because they have lost their first two games. However, they intend to play a style of cricket that will motivate everyone.

Everyone on the team is really hopeful about beating Sri Lanka, according to Rohit Paudel.

He claimed that the team, captained by Wanindu Hasaranga, could be defeated since the players had put in more than two months of hard training. The Lankan Lions will be eliminated from the competition if they lose another game in the interim. Even though it would keep them alive, a victory does not ensure them a position in the Super Eight.

The Associate squad is defeating Test-playing nations in this World Cup, as you can see. As a result, it serves as inspiration for all of us, particularly for tomorrow’s game. We as a team, therefore, think that we will win tomorrow. Based on our preparation over the past few months and our history of playing cricket over the past 1.5 years, I believe that the team has always believed in itself, and we are excited for tomorrow’s match. ESPNcricinfo cited Rohit Paudel as stating, “We want to go tomorrow and show off our talent in front of the world.”

There’s pressure on the country that plays the Test. We intend to win tomorrow’s game, so we’ll use the pressure and generate it. Thus, I believe we are ahead if we perform the fundamentals correctly,” he continued.

Nepal can still compete for the Super Eight if they win. In their first game of the season, they were defeated by the Netherlands by a margin of six wickets; hence, the batting needs to improve considerably to have a better performance against Sri Lanka.
