Rinku Singh, an adventurous hitter who won matches, has been the talk of the town ever since he made his Indian debut. Notably, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, during the third Twenty20 International match against Afghanistan, the youthful player came out to bat under intense pressure as the hosts were down 22/4 at one point. But the 26-year-old Rinku Singh maintained his composure and linked up with captain Rohit Sharma for 190 runs, helping the home team score 212 runs.
While Rohit hammered 121* runs off 69 deliveries, Rinku managed just 69* runs off 39 deliveries. At one point, the Ibrahim Zadran-led team ran out of alternatives as the two dominated the Afghan bowling unit. They appeared merciless in the midst, thus none of their schemes failed. In the meantime, Rinku batted alongside Rohit in an international cricket match for the first time. The batter, who was born in Aligarh, described his experience as follows: “Every moment in the middle with the 36-year-old was a masterclass in learning.”

Rinku Singh has shown himself numerous times in the shortest format, but his spot in the starting lineup for the T20 World Cup is still up in the air.
