In the Pune Test’s second innings, Rohit Sharma’s battle against the spin persisted. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit started the innings well as India chased a challenging 359-run goal. In his typical style, he defended them against Tim Southee and William O’Rourke, and he looked good against them.
In his fifteen balls, he hit the only boundary of spinner Mitchell Santner. However, his dismissal on the next delivery demonstrated his lack of spin defence. Santner’s length ball produced a lot of bounce, and the India opener attempted to block it but was given an inside edge instead. India’s first wicket was taken at 34 runs, and he ended his stay with eight runs off 16 balls.
