The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) secretary and captain of Team India, Jay Shah, gained notoriety lately when they brought the trophy from the T20 World Cup 2024 to the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. The visit brought home the significance of the victory and its implications for the entire team.

Notably, India won its first T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies since 2007. The Siddhivinayak temple is a popular spiritual destination for believers and celebrities alike, and it is the site of a special pooja for the cutlery.

The nation greeted Team India’s arrival from Barbados with festival-like celebrations. In addition, images of Jay Shah and Rohit Sharma holding the trophy in the temple have rapidly gained widespread popularity on social media.

India is getting ready for new assignments.

Regarding team India, following their recent white-ball series against Sri Lanka, the group is presently on vacation. The team lost the ODI series but won the T20I series against Sri Lanka.

The side will turn its attention to the longer format after a break. Bangladesh and India will play a multi-format series. Two Test matches are scheduled to begin on September 19.

Following the two Tests, three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches between India and Bangladesh are scheduled for October 6, 9, and 12. In addition, India will play New Zealand following the Bangladesh series before going on tour to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar series in 2024–2025.
