“They are used to that kind of intensity,” says Robin Peterson, who thinks South Africa will do well in the 2023 ODI World Cup despite the pressure.

"They are used to that kind of intensity," says Robin Peterson, who thinks South Africa will do well in the 2023 ODI World Cup despite the pressure.

Robin Peterson, a former all-rounder for South Africa, said he thought the national team could handle the pressure at the upcoming ODI World Cup, which will be held in India in October.

With the mega ODI event coming up, Robin Peterson drew comparisons to the 2011 World Cup. He said that the players had to deal with pressure and public attention during the event. He also said that the IPL had helped the Proteas do well under pressure, which will help them in October’s big game.

“Social media was just getting started during the 2011 World Cup, so I think everything will be even more exaggerated now. There will be more coverage of the tournament in the papers and on TV. “It felt like that (high pressure) back then, and it will feel even more like that now,” Robin Peterson told IOL Sport.

“The players are used to all the pressure because many of our best players play in the IPL. “They are used to the scrutiny, the intensity with which fans react to games, and the intensity of cricket itself,” he said.

The former all-rounder for the Proteas also said that playing in India, which is known as “the home of cricket” right now, would mean being in the public eye. He also suggested that the think tank set up a bit of competition so that players would stay sharp and a good team would be picked for the World Cup.

“There are probably only two places where I’d want to play cricket in the World Cup. I think the last one was in England.” India is currently at the top of cricket, and you could probably say that they are now the home of cricket. “Everything you do is news, and people are always watching,” Robin Peterson said.

“It’s important to support players, but there needs to be some fight for spots on the team. “That’s what keeps everyone on their toes and working hard,” he said as he wrapped up.
