In a recent interview, former Indian cricket player Robin Uthappa covered a wide range of subjects. The tenure of star Indian batsman Virat Kohli as captain was one of the more talked-about subjects. Uthappa discussed how Yuvraj Singh‘s international career was abruptly ended when he recovered from cancer, which was partly Kohli’s fault.
The reason for this is that the former all-rounder was unable to keep up the level of conditioning that Kohli demanded of his teammates. Yuvraj Singh, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest white ball cricketers of all time, played a key role in India’s World Cup victories in 2007 and 2011, although he received a cancer diagnosis following the competition.
Yuvraj did recover rather well and battled his way back into the Indian squad. But shortly after his comeback, the Chandigarh native decided to retire due to poor results.

“After witnessing his struggles, you must uphold a certain standard as captain, but there are always exceptions to the rule. He said, “This man deserves an exception because he has not only defeated cancer but also won you tournaments.”

Uthappa also discussed how Yuvraj Singh requested a point deduction during the fitness test but the management refused to provide him any kind of mercy.
Thus, Yuvi did not receive the two points he had asked for in the fitness test. Then Yuvi said, ‘Okay, I’ll do it,’ since he wasn’t on the team and wasn’t worth considering. He then made his way onto the team after passing the fitness test. However, following a weak tournament, he was ostracised and never given another chance,” he disclosed.
