The club announced that Kemar Roach, a fast bowler for the West Indies, will be returning to Surrey to play in the first four County Championship games of the forthcoming season. Roach will be playing for Surrey for the fifth consecutive season.
The 36-year-old has taken 93 wickets overall for Surrey, helping the team win the County Championship the past three seasons. Prior to the first game against Essex, he will re-join the team in Chelmsford. After that, he will be ready to play against Hampshire, Sussex, and Somerset.
The addition of Nathan Smith from New Zealand and Matt Fisher from Yorkshire had already strengthened Surrey’s offence for the forthcoming campaign.
“I’ve enjoyed every moment of my time with Surrey over the last four years and I’m excited to join up with the team again,” Roach stated.
“My second home is the Kia Oval, and the atmosphere there, which is run by Alec Stewart, Gareth Batty, and Rory Burns, is among the greatest I’ve ever been a part of. I’m eager to do everything in my power to help Surrey achieve greater success.
