Ghulam and Rizwan set up Markhors' third consecutive win

In Faisalabad, Markhors defeated Dolphins thanks to Kamran Ghulam‘s second century in three innings, three wicket hauls from Salman Agha and Muhammad Imran, and three wickets from Ghulam himself. Their position at the top of the points table was strengthened by the victory.

Ghulam made 113 off just 110 balls, which included a 122-run third wicket stand with Mohammad Rizwan, capping an impressive all-around performance for Markhors. Markhors amassed 284 for 9 in their 50 overs thanks to that. Markhors won by 92 runs after the Dolphins lost wickets frequently and were bowled out for 192 in reply.

Mir Hamza removed both of Markhors’ openers, Bismillah Khan and Mohammad Faizan, in five overs after the Dolphins elected to field. But Ghulam maintained his strong play after hitting 115 against the Panthers the previous week.

Along with a half-century of his own, Rizwan helped him steady the innings.

Although Markhors managed to amass a significant amount of runs, Faheem Ashraf claimed four wickets for the Dolphins.

In the pursuit, dolphins never really got going. Mohammad Hurraira, the opener, was removed by Naseem Shah after he fell for a 12-ball duck. Despite receiving minimal assistance from his teammates, Captain Saud Shakeel attempted to maintain his lead with 41.

Asif Ali scored a speedy fifty off 43 balls, but the Dolphins’ hitters were unable to establish a strong alliance. They were eventually knocked out in 43.5 overs. Six bowlers were used by Markhors, and all of them were able to take at least one wicket.

The Dolphins lost this match for the second time in the competition, and they are now the only team without a point.
