In the IPL 2025 encounter between RR and PBKS, Riyan Parag lit up Mullanpur by smashing MS Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot. The right-handed batter’s unbeaten 43*(25), which included three fours and sixes, helped RR end the match against PBKS. Along with Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer, he was instrumental in RR’s surge in the last overs.
Marco Jansen tried to hit the right-handed batter with a yorker. He missed the length terribly, though, and the ball ended up being wider and fuller than the pads. In order to score six runs, Riyan Parag hammered a helicopter shot over the deep fine leg without wasting the freebie. When Parag made a fantastic shot, the audience exploded.

Parag’s ending was advantageous to RR. They were 138/3 after Nitish Rana was dismissed in 14.4 overs. For the loss of one wicket, RR amassed 67 runs in the final 32 balls. Hetmyer and Jurel supported him by scoring 20 runs in 12 balls and an undefeated 13*(5), respectively, to help RR reach 205/4.
Following an early breakdown, Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell bring PBKS’s run chase back to life.
With a strong finish to their innings, RR had the momentum on their side. In the powerplay overs, the first champions carried on with the ball, taking wickets for pleasure. Jofra Archer was fiery in the opening over of the game, dismissing Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya.
PBKS was reduced to 26/3 in 3.3 overs after Marcus Stoinis was sent back to the pavilion by Sandeep Sharma. After 6.2 overs, PBKS was 43/4 when Kumar Kartikeya removed Prabhsimran Singh. At that moment in the match, RR was in the lead.
But with a vital 88-run partnership for the fifth wicket, Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell brought the home team’s innings back to life. Wadhera scored 62(41), which featured four fours and three sixes, and made a significant contribution to the partnership. Maxwell hit three fours and a six to reach 30(21). After 15.1 overs, PBKS was reduced to 131/6 as a result of their dismissals.
