Many countries throughout the world have recognised cricket as a global sport. Given the drama and excitement the sport has provided throughout the years and the fact that it has been enjoyed by generations of people, many non-athletes have also been massive fans of the game.

One of the people who has recently shown a great deal of interest in the game is former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who was spotted having fun playing tennis ball cricket at the Parsee Gymkhana in Mumbai during his trip to India.

Additionally, Rishi Sunak shared on social media his experiences playing on the ground,

stating that a vacation to Mumbai wouldn’t be complete without playing tennis ball cricket.

“No trip to Mumbai is complete without a game of tennis ball cricket,” Sunak wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The Parsee Gymkhana’s anniversary celebrations also coincided with the visit, and Sunak expressed his happiness to be a part of the festivities and his relief at not having to leave the stage too frequently while playing.

I had a great time celebrating the Parsee Gymkhana Club’s anniversary with all of you. A remarkable accomplishment. Plenty of history and great things to come. “This morning, I was able to avoid going outside too frequently,” Sunak told reporters.

The Parsee Gymkhana was established in 1885 and was among the first members of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The initial chairman was Jamsetjee Tata, and Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy was the founder and president.

Speaking of Sunak, he will also be present at the historical Wankhede Stadium for the fifth Twenty20 International between India and England. India has taken the lead in the series with a 3-1 record and won it in Pune. Before the ODI series, the England team, lead by Jos Buttler, will play for dignity in this final match.
