The 26-year-old Rishabh Pant has begun taking wickets at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, according to the most recent information provided by the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, Ricky Ponting. He made headlines when he was seen batting in the nets, and the resulting films quickly gained popularity on social media. However, because keeping puts a lot of strain on the knees, it appeared to be difficult for him. Pant overcame the challenges, though, and is working hard in the gym right now to build some momentum before the next Indian Premier League season.
In the meantime, Pant has already received a match-fit certificate from the NCA, meaning the BCCI won’t be able to stop him from participating in every IPL match. With Pant having severe injuries from his tragic automobile accident in December 2022, the Delhi camp is not willing to take any chances with him. According to Ponting, the cricket player is working out to improve his level of fitness, and his development is being closely watched.
He continued by saying that batting is no longer a problem and disclosed that the club management had previously anticipated that Pant would miss the 2024 Indian Premier League, but the cricketer has shown enough bravery and commitment to overcome all the challenges and return to the team’s plans.
Over the past few weeks, he has actually participated in some practice matches, which has been incredibly encouraging for us. I’m aware that he has put in a ton of effort to improve his physical condition and fitness to return to where he is. Ponting was cited by India Today as saying, “He’s fielded in these games; he’s kept in one of those games, and the batting hasn’t seemed to be an issue for him yet.”

Rishabh Pant’s condition is uncertain for DC camp
Pant has received the fitness certificate, but the DC camp is unsure if he will participate in every game of the next campaign. Speaking about the same, Ponting stated that they don’t know if Pant is fit for every game and that he will be assigned to a different role if that happens.
“We’ll have to make a huge decision because you would expect he would go right back into that captaincy role if he is fit. There are some judgments to be made if he isn’t fully fit and needs to be used in a somewhat different manner, according to Ponting.
