On December 30, 2022, late at night, Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was involved in a potentially fatal collision on the Delhi-Dehradun motorway. Despite the automobile catching flames, Pant managed to escape the catastrophic collision. After that, he was brought to a hospital, where he underwent all of the procedures. The accident forced the player to miss a year and three months of cricket.
Ashish Nehra, the head coach of the Gujarat Titans (GT) and a former cricket player for India, visited the wicketkeeper-batter when he was recuperating from his injuries. He received priceless counsel from Nehra that has stayed with Pant till this day. Rishabh Pant talked candidly about his encounter with Nehra at a convention in Kolkata, where the former cricket player gave him advice on how to “keep himself happy.”
“I believe Ashish Nehra gave me some advise that was incredibly beneficial. He is also a senior in my club. “I’ve had a lot of injuries,” he said after observing my condition. I can only advise you to maintain your happiness. Engage in activities that provide you joy and continue doing so. Rishabh Pant remarked, “I think that advice really stuck with me and helped me get through my injury.”
All you need to do is figure it out for yourself: Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant shared his secret to staying motivated when he wasn’t playing cricket during the conference. Being ‘negative’ or ‘criticising’ everything is not as vital as accepting it, as the cricket player discovered the hard way.
“I had to come to terms with the fact that I couldn’t get over this in a day or two. I finally calmed down and saw that there was no need in constantly criticising or being pessimistic. Eating might be it for me. For another, it could be conversing with someone. “You simply need to figure things out on your own,” Pant continued.
