India’s Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant helped the Mumbai player through his difficult times. In a recent interview, the 25-year-old disclosed the same information.
Over his career, Prithvi Shaw has faced many challenges. The right-handed batsman, who was once regarded as a batting prodigy after scoring a century in his Test debut, hasn’t represented India since 2021. Due to fitness concerns, he was left out of the Mumbai team for the Ranji Trophy last season, and he later failed to sell in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) super auction.
Shaw told News24 that Rishabh Pant “keeps on contacting me, whenever he feels something is wrong.”
I’ve made several poor choices in my life: Prithvi Shaw,
The 25-year-old acknowledged making several poor choices during his life, including devoting less time to cricket. Distractions were present along the road, he claimed. Shaw also disclosed that he was removed from the track by some unsuitable pals he had made.
“I have made many poor choices during my life. I began to spend less time playing cricket. In the past, I practiced a lot. For instance, I used to spend three to four hours batting in nets. Batting never grew old to me. I used to spend half a day on the ground. Shaw acknowledged that there was a distraction.
“After that, I began to view things that weren’t essential as essential. I became friends with the wrong people. since I was in the lead at the time. Additionally, friendship is developed. After that, they led me about. All of those things. After that, I left the track. I used to practise on the ground for eight hours. It’s four hours now,” he continued.
In order to switch his team before the upcoming domestic season, Shaw has written to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) requesting a No Objection Certificate (NOC). He might be joining Maharashtra, the two-time Ranji Trophy winners, according to reports.
