According to reports, member of parliament Priya Saroj and star batsman Rinku Singh of the Kolkata Knight Riders and India have postponed their wedding, which was originally set for November 18, 2025. In a lavish ceremony held at the Hotel Centrum in Lucknow on June 8, the pair became engaged. More than 300 people attended the event, including well-known politicians and cricket players. Actress Jaya Bachchan, veteran politician Rajeev Shukla, Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, MP Dimple Yadav, and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav were among the notable guests. Rinku’s official Instagram account featured photos from the ceremony.
Why has Priya Saroj and Rinku Singh’s wedding been postponed?
Rinku’s busy schedule in the upcoming months has caused the ceremony to be rescheduled till February 2026, according to numerous media reports. Amar Ujala and Dainik Jagran have reported that the wedding was originally scheduled for November 18, 2025, at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi. However, both families have decided to reschedule the wedding due to the southpaw’s schedule with the national team, particularly during the home season.
The new wedding date and venue for Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj
The couple has not made an official announcement, but the new tentative date is scheduled for February 2026. Between October 19 and November 8, Rinku is anticipated to play in three ODIs and five T20Is during India’s white-ball tour to Australia. The Men in Blue will then have demanding home assignments in December.
Although there has been no confirmation as of yet, there are rumours that the wedding venue may move from Varanasi to a destination. According to reports, the families’ wish to host a party that close friends and extended family can freely attend, in addition to Rinku’s cricket calendar, had a role in the choice.
