Ricky Ponting and Nasser Hussain talk about how they feel about the upcoming ODI World Cup match between India and Australia.

Ricky Ponting, who has won the World Cup twice, thought that India would start as the choice because of the weather. In the finals of the World Test Championship, which took place in England earlier this month, India and Australia faced off against each other. The team led by Pat Cummins won by a huge 209 runs. In recent years, India hasn’t had much luck in the knockout rounds of ICC games. When they host the ODI World Cup in October and November, they will be hoping to break the bad luck in their own home.

On Tuesday, June 27, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the dates and times for the next ODI World Cup. India and Australia, both of which have won the World Cup before, will start their new seasons when they play each other in Chennai on October 8. In the past, conditions in Chennai have been good for spin bowlers.  But he thought Australia would do well in the face of the task.

“It’d be a great show, that’s for sure. What a great way to start for Australia to play the host nation in a place like Chennai,” Ricky Ponting said in an ICC video.

“The improvements to the stadium are great. We know what to expect from the pitch there, which is that it will probably be a little bit slower and have a little bit of spin. But the Australians will have time to get there and get ready. The conditions would be better for India, but Australia has a great record of playing white-ball cricket in the subcontinent, so I’m sure they’ll go into that game very confident,” the 48-year-old added.

Maybe some money from the WTC final: Nasser Hussain

India and Australia both made it to the semifinals of the 2019 tournament, but New Zealand and England beat them. Nasser Hussain, a former captain of England, said that both India and Australia will make it to the next round. He also said that India might try to get back at Australia for losing the WTC final by beating guests in Chennai.

Hussain said, “It’s a great place to have the two biggest names in cricket, India and Australia, because it’s a big event and they’re both great teams.” “It’s a big deal that India is hosting Australia, and both teams are great. It might be a little payback for the WTC final, and I think both teams will be there in the knockout stages.”
