Richa Ghosh, a batsman and wicketkeeper for India, was among the Women in Blue’s top players at the just finished Women’s World Cup 2025. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will present her with a specially made gold-plated bat and ball at Eden Gardens as a token of appreciation. In honor of her outstanding performance at the Women’s World Cup, a lavish felicitation celebration will take place at the legendary location on Saturday, November 8.
Richa Ghosh scored 235 runs at an average of 39.16 and a strike rate of 133.52 in eight innings during the main event. She hit the most sixes (12) of any player in the competition, demonstrating her exceptional power hitting. She also tied the record set by Deandra Dottin for the most sixes in a single Women’s World Cup.
As a thank you for her “outstanding achievements and invaluable contribution to Indian cricket,” she will get a gold-plated bat and ball signed by legendary bowler Jhulan Goswami and former India captain Sourav Ganguly.
According to CAB president Ganguly, the association is extremely proud to honor the Bengali cricket player whose valiant actions have elevated Bengal and India to a new level of prominence.
“Richa Ghosh has demonstrated incredible talent, poise, and tenacity on the international scene.
We would like to honor her for her outstanding contribution to Indian cricket by giving her this gold bat and ball. In a statement, Ganguly said, “She is an inspiration to all young cricket players in Bengal and throughout the nation.”
She had two of the tournament’s top efforts against South Africa. She hammered 94 off 77 balls against Laura Wolvaardt and company during the league phase. Against the same competition, the 22-year-old backed it up with a vital 24-ball 34 in the final.
Richa Ghosh has an impressive trophy cabinet that includes the Women’s World Cup, U-19 World Cup, Women’s Premier League title, Asian Games gold, and Commonwealth Games silver. She is the second wicketkeeper from Siliguri to wear the India jersey after Wriddhiman Saha.
