It’s an intriguing development that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has apparently decided to fine cricket players $500 if they are seen “sleeping” in the changing room during a game.
Sources concerning this remarkable development spoke with Geo News. PCB has made the decision to give the team’s discipline top priority. While they are not in play, the players are not permitted to take naps in the dressing room, so they will be watched closely at all times during match hours.
“The players have received notice of the development and a warning. The insider stated, “Team Director Mohammad Hafeez is the one who gives the orders.
The sources claim that under the previous administration, Pakistani players who slept in the locker room during game time were not punished. But now that they are under new management, the players have been told that their previous behavior is no longer permitted. A $500 fine will be imposed on anyone found guilty of breaking the code of conduct.
Significant adjustments were made to the PCB management and support staff following the team’s failure to advance past the ODI World Cup 2023 quarterfinals last month.
Following the World Cup, Mickey Arthur relinquished his position as Team Director to Hafeez. Adam Hollioake took Andrew Puttick’s position as batting coach. Under the previous administration, Morne Morkel was the bowling coach. But following the World Cup fiasco, he was fired and replaced as the fast-bowling coach by Umar Gul and the spin-bowling coach by Saeed Ajmal.
