Nehal Wadhera, a batsman for the Mumbai Indians (MI), disclosed after his team’s resounding victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) that he attempted to play exquisite shots like teammate Suryakumar Yadav.
Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. annihilated the opposing team at the legendary Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by completing their third successful 200-plus run chase to secure the two points.
Even though Suryakumar Yadav’s 35-ball 83 was the highlight of the match, youthful Nehal Wadhera also contributed significantly to Mumbai’s victory. Together with Suryakumar Yadav, the youthful sensation scored an unbeaten 52 off 34 balls, which included three sixes and four fours, to contribute to a 140-run stand. Following the victory, Wadhera expressed his pleasure at batting alongside Suryakumar, who, like himself, had played a number of exquisite shots.
“Yes, batting with Surya Bhai is incredibly enjoyable. I attempted to replicate some of his photos but was unable to do so due to their extreme difficulty. Surya Bhai is an excellent batting companion. Wadhera stated in the post-match press conference, “He just told me that if we both keep going, we can pull this off way too early.”
“I attempted to perform the scoop against the Chennai Super Kings in my previous match. These are positions I was unfamiliar with earlier in my career. After the game, Wadhera concluded his interaction by stating, “I learned these from Surya bhai,” he added.

Since the last match against CSK, the MI think tank decided to promote Wadhera up the batting order, and the decision appeared to pay off. The 22-year-old scored 64 runs off 51 balls against Chennai and followed it up with another fifty runs against Bangalore, stating that he enjoyed batting in his new position.
“I enjoyed batting higher in the lineup. I was batting down the order earlier. I am satisfied that I was given the chance to bat and scored consecutive fifties. But I was more pleased with the team’s performance and the match’s outcome,” said Wadhera.
“We have played a few games at Wankhede and pursued these 200-run totals with ease. Again, we accomplished it. I had faith in myself to complete the task for my team, and I am thrilled with how I completed the game,” he concluded.
