Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), was recently questioned regarding MS Dhoni’s prospects in the Indian Premier League. Even though the 43-year-old has participated in every league season, his age does not work in his favour, and at the conclusion of each season, there are concerns about his future.
When Viswanathan discussed MS Dhoni decision-making in an interview, it was the same. He asserted that the captain of CSK is a self-made individual. According to the CSK CEO, it is up to MS Dhoni to decide whether or not to play in the IPL. He promised to let management know if Dhoni made any decisions.
According to Viswanathan, the great player has not yet told them about his IPL future. His remarks were made during CSK’s fourth straight IPL 2025 defeat, bringing their current record to nine losses.
“We won’t ever tell him anything; it’s his call. He will let us know if he decides. We haven’t heard anything from him,” Viswanathan said.
The IPL 2025 performances of MS Dhoni
Dhoni has performed admirably behind the stumps as a wicketkeeper. The former India captain has shown remarkable reflexes with his stumping and fast glovework against spinners, but he has been mediocre with the gloves against pacers.
The renowned keeper has, for the most part, been accurate even in DRS calls. However, his batting has been inconsistent, exhibiting both strong and weak performances. He had little to do in his 0*(2) start to the season versus MI. His subsequent performances against RCB, RR, and DC were 30*(16), 16(11), and 30*(26), respectively.
Dhoni’s scores against PBKS, KKR, and LSG were 27(12), 1(4), and 26*(11), in that order. With scores of 4(6), 6(10), 11(4), and 12(8) versus MI, SRH, PBKS, and RCB, respectively, he hasn’t been playing well in the last four games.
