Following severe accusations of sexual abuse by a Ghaziabad lady, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal was booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The cricket player is accused of financially, physically, and psychologically abusing the woman over a five-year period while making a fraudulent marriage commitment in the FIR, which was filed at the Indirapuram police station.
The woman said she was presented to Yash Dayal family and treated like a prospective spouse when she first lodged her complaint on June 21 via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance site (IGRS). Despite promises of marriage, she claimed that Yash Dayal eventually became violent and persisted in taking advantage of her emotionally.

The complainant said that after connecting on social media, she and Dayal started dating in late 2020. According to reports, they met for the first time in Prayagraj. She then says she stayed at the cricketer’s house and became quite close to his family. The woman claimed to have even accompanied Dayal’s family on a trip to Ooty and to the IPL 2022 final.
According to the woman, Dayal avoided talking about marriage and had several affairs, even though they appeared to be a committed couple in public. Another lady who was dating the pace allegedly contacted her in April 2025 and gave her evidence of his extramarital relationships. According to the complaint, three additional ladies made identical statements.

The FIR claims that despite being aware of Yash Dayal behaviour, his family allegedly persisted in making false promises regarding marriage. She says she sought treatment for depression and suicide thoughts brought on by the emotional trauma.
Chats, screenshots, video call recordings, and photographs that were provided as proof are all included in the case. She further accused Dayal of financial exploitation, saying that Dayal stole her money and used it to buy things for the house using the same app on their phones.
Dayal has been charged under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with sexual actions committed by deception, including making false marriage commitments, and has a maximum sentence of ten years in prison. There is no bail for this part. The Ghaziabad police started an inquiry after the escalation via the CM’s webpage, sent Dayal a notice, and took a statement from the complainant. Dayal also provided the police with his statement on July 7.
In the meantime, the 27-year-old was a key member of RCB’s IPL 2025 team, contributing 13 wickets to their championship run. Although the left-arm bowler has not yet made his debut for the national squad, he did receive his first India call-up for a home series against Bangladesh in 2024.
