Sam Konstas’ outstanding batting at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground lights up the Boxing Day Test. Despite Nathan McSweeney’s respectable opening performance, the Australian team management chose Konstas for the final two Test matches in the current series against India, and he did not fail to give the hosts a flawless start.
In instance, the 19-year-old smashed Jasprit Bumrah all over the park in a challenge. A furious innings from Konstas also assisted Khawaja in calming down. In the current series, the senior batter had trouble with the bat. With Konstas on fire, he had time to settle into a rhythm and appeared to be in fine form throughout the opening session of Day 1. Because he won’t have to face the new ball, which affected him during the series, Marnus Labuchagne will also benefit from coming out to bat in the 20th over.
