Ravichandran Ashwin has no place in the starting lineup for the World Cup Finals, in my opinion. Gambit Gautam

Ravichandran Ashwin

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin may not start in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final against Australia at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, according to former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir. Ahead of the pivotal match, Gambhir hinted that Ashwin would not be making a change to the Indian team.

Australia made it to a record-tying eighth final, while India won their fourth spot in the ODI World Cup final. With a perfect record, the Men in Blue dominated the league stage, taking first place after winning all nine games. Gambhir expressed doubt over Ashwin’s place in the starting XI while highlighting the team’s winning recipe. He pleaded with India to stick with the winning formula that has worked so far.

Regarding Ravichandran Ashwin playing in the final, I don’t think so. He doesn’t belong here, and why would you even want to change something that is working for you? What greater showing from your five bowlers is there to be expected?” remarked Gambhir, as cited by India Today.

After talking a lot about hitters, I think it’s time to give the bowlers some credit: Gambhir

Following their early defeats by South Africa and India, Australia rallied, winning seven games in a row to take third position in the group stage. The Delhi batsman praised India’s ability to bowl and highlighted their outstanding performance when under duress. Accolades should be given to the Indian bowling unit, which included Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Yadav, and Jadeja. They took charge of 85 of the team’s 95 wickets throughout the ODI World Cup.

We have stated that, with just five specialist bowlers, teams will try to target one or two of them following Hardik’s injury. That hasn’t occurred, though, because of the five bowlers’ caliber. We’ve talked a lot about batsmen, so I think it’s time to give the bowlers some credit for doing well under duress, said Gambhir.
