Ravi Shastri’s suggestion to Virat Kohli amid spin struggles: ‘You could try and do things to unsettle the spinners’

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri suggested that Virat Kohli should try and unsettle the spinners instead of letting them bowl to their plans. This was after Kohli gave his wicket to Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the second innings of the first Test on Day 2, in Chennai, on Friday, September 20.

In previous years, Kohli has struggled against the spinners. He has had eighteen dismissals from spinners since 2021. He was declared LBW on Friday after failing to connect on a flip shot intended to be harmless from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Shastri responded to Virat Kohli’s dismissal by saying that he should try to use his feet, play sweep shots, and occasionally attempt aerial shots over the in-field. Additionally, Ravi Shastri mentioned that some of the recent Test match pitches used by India haven’t been ideal for batting. In addition, he found it humorous that Gill was gently dismissed.
