Ravi Shastri tells Rohit Sharma and India before the WTC final, "Sometimes in England, you need to slow it down."

Ravi Shastri, a former India cricket player and head coach, thinks that the way India is set up for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final at The Oval in London can be very helpful because it will let Rohit Sharma, the captain, run the game against Australia.

Ravi Shastri thinks that India’s mix of bowlers will help them a lot. Ravi Shastri says that India’s mix will help Rohit Sharma, who is the captain, have a lot more control over the game and slow it down when he needs to.

“The last time India played in England, they did very well because they had Bumrah, Shami, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj. So you had four quick pitchers. One of them, Shardul, is an all-rounder, which is a very good thing in England. Even more so from the point of view of India. It makes it much easier for someone like Rohit Sharma to take charge of the game. At times, you need to slow down in England, too. And it can get cloudy all of a sudden,” Shastri said in ICC Review.

There are different kinds of horses. Ravi Shastri

“You have horses for courses, and you’ve thought of everything. But then, if your fast-bowling attack is not very good,. If you think the players are getting older, aren’t as quick as they used to be, and aren’t in the best shape, then you play that second spinner because Ashwin and Jadeja are both good,” he said.

The final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) will be held at The Oval in London in June of this year. The high-stakes match will last for five days, from June 7th to June 11th. India and Australia, who are currently ranked first and second in the ICC Test teams rankings, will play it.
