Ravi Shastri calls Dhruv Jurel a "jewel for Indian cricket" following his mature performance against LSG.

In the ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024, the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants seven wickets on April 27 to extend their winning streak. With eight victories from their nine games played thus far, the Royals lead the standings with 16 points.

Following 197, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel ensured that the Royal team easily defeated Lucknow. After several lacklustre performances, Jure came into his own and scored an undefeated 52 runs in 34 deliveries, making it a memorable day for the young player.

After seeing Jurel’s performance, veteran Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri praised him on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter, calling him a gem for Indian cricket. “For Indian cricket, this Jurel is a jewel. In the present as well as in the future. Very serious, dude,” Shastri wrote.

The Royals’ attention will now turn to their next game, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, against Sunrisers Hyderabad, following their victory against Lucknow. Hyderabad hasn’t yet met the top team in the table this season and is presently in third place in the standings. With five victories out of eight games played this season, Pat Cummins and company have also had an outstanding run in the event.
