The claim that India had an unfair edge over the other competitors since they played all of their games in Dubai was one of the main points of contention during the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan, who had to share hosting the games since India refused to allow them to travel to the neighbouring country for the coveted tournament, received the majority of this criticism.
Some English experts, like Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd, and Michael Atherton, however, also came forth to harshly criticise the BCCI and the ICC for their bad scheduling of the eight-team tournament’s 2025 edition. Rashid Latif, a former cricket player for Pakistan, responded to their remarks by defending the organisers and calling the English criticism unfair.
“You understand if we (Pakistan) are discussing India’s benefit. However, why are former cricket players from England complaining about it now? On his YouTube channel, Rashid Latif stated, “They are attempting to get too involved in other people’s affairs.” Begaani shaadi mein abdullah deewana.
“Yes, there was a scheduling issue. India played New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday, March 2. The semifinal lineup would have been decided with ease if India had played that match the day before England’s match against South Africa (on March 1st) in Karachi. The ICC and all parties involved made a mistake. You just have one task, which is to review the schedule, and you failed to notice the error. You’re complaining because you agreed and now your team is out. It is the fault of every cricket board representative. Attending the ICC meeting just to have fun is not a good idea. Perform your duties effectively,” he added.
Regarding England, they were the only team to finish the tournament with no points after losing all three of their Group B matches against South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan. Following the disastrous outcome, Jos Buttler, the captain of the Three Lions, chose to resign from his position. The Three Lions were also the first team eliminated from the competition.
