Following his incident during the post-match presentation of a Pakistan Super League (PSL) game on Tuesday, April 22, former Pakistani batter and pundit Ramiz Raja has made headlines.
The Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars played a high-scoring game in Multan. While announcing the ‘Catch of the Match’ award, Ramiz Raja, who was hosting the post-match presentation, made a mistake.
Joshua Little, a pacer for the Multan Sultans, was to present the prize. Ramiz Raja unintentionally referred to the “PSL” as the “IPL
” when he was announcing the same. It’s interesting to note that he made no effort to rectify himself, which resulted in a flurry of social media memes. “To get rid of Fakhar [Zaman], Josh Little will be given the catch of the match award. What a catch! At the post-match presentation, Ramiz remarked, “Probably the catch of the HBL IPL.”

Following three straight losses, the Sultans open their account.
The runners-up from the previous season, the Sultans, have had a dreadful start to the season, losing their first three games by significant margins. Following a four-wicket loss to Karachi Kings to start the campaign, they suffered two crushing losses to Islamabad United (47 runs) and Peshawar Zalmi (120 runs). With a victory of 33 runs over the Lahore Qalandars, Mohammad Rizwan and company finally opened their account.
The Sultans’ standout players were 19-year-old pacer Ubaid Shah and opener Yasir Khan. The former was named Player of the Match for his outstanding 87 off 44, while the latter claimed the crucial wickets of Fakhar, Daryl Mitchell, and Sam Billings to guarantee his team’s eventual successful defence of 228.
