On August 7 at the Pallekele international cricket stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Colombo Striker’s Babar Azam scored the game-winning hundred against Galle Titans in the ongoing Lanka Premier League. It’s noteworthy that the Strikers won the match by seven wickets and are currently third in the LPL 2023 points standings.
When the second innings of the match began, former Pakistani batter and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) chairman Ramiz Raja made a strange remark regarding Azam that quickly gained notoriety on social media. When Raja noticed the opening batter maintaining his guard, he unintentionally declared that he “absolutely loves Azam and wishes to marry him.”

In the LPL, Colombo Strikers defeated Galle Titans by seven wickets.
Speaking of the game, Niroshan Dickwella of Colombo Strikers won the toss and chose to ask Galle Titans to bat first. As the Titans scored 188/3, Tim Seifert played a magnificent half-century. Including four fours and three sixes, he scored 54* from 35 deliveries. Ramesh Mendis’ dismissal of opener Shevon Daniel came after he had scored 49 runs off of 31 balls.
Strikers’ response saw openers Pathum Nissanka (104) and Babar Azam (104) put up an incredible 111-run stand, the greatest opening partnership of the season thus far, as they successfully chased down the mark with one ball remaining.
