Abhishek Sharma was the only owner of the fifth T20I in the India-England series. The hosts ended up scoring 247 runs in the first innings as his 54-ball 135-run outburst broke numerous records. Abhishek secured two dismissals, and England was ultimately skittled for just 97.
Abhishek’s father, coach, and former Ranji Trophy cricketer Rajkumar Sharma thanked the enthusiastic Wankhede crowd and conveyed the joy of the whole family at Abhishek’s recent excursion.
“My wife and daughter were present at the Mumbai location to witness Abhishek’s live batting performance.” I was watching it on TV. For us, it was an extremely proud moment.
Rajkumar was cited by News18 as saying, “I can’t express how happy I am. Thank you to everyone who helped him.”
At an incredible strike rate of 228.57, Abhishek hit seven fours and thirteen sixes in his merciless stroke. Abhishek’s 13 maximums eclipsed Rohit Sharma’s 10 against Sri Lanka in 2017 and became India’s highest total in men’s Twenty20 Internationals.
Abhishek was just three deliveries away from becoming the quickest Indian tonne in T20I history. In 37 deliveries, he achieved his second T20I century. Abhishek’s century was the eighth-fastest in men’s Twenty20 international cricket overall.
The ball was passed to Abhishek, the hosts’ sixth change. He got rid of Jamie Overton and Brydon Carse in his one over. For his outstanding performance, he was named Player of the Match as India won the T20I series by a landslide 4-1.
Before going to the United Arab Emirates for the forthcoming Champions Trophy, they will now play England in a three-match ODI series. Notably, Abhishek is not included in the ODI teams for the prestigious ODI competition or the bilateral series. He hasn’t yet made his debut for the national 50-over team.
