Rajeev Shukla Clears Air on IND A vs AUS A Food Poisoning Claims

Following claims that four Australian players contracted food poisoning during their three-match unofficial ODI series against India A in Kanpur, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has commented. He explained that the food they were offered during the tour might not have been the cause of the illness.

Rajeev Shukla clarified that the players’ meals were supplied by a reputable hotel and pointed out that Indian players would have become unwell as well if there had been a problem with the food, which did not occur. According to reports, the ailment sent Australian pacer Henry Thornton to the hospital.

“All of the players, even the Indian guys, would have become ill if there had been a problem with the food. Something else must have been involved. Everyone is having the same delicious food that is provided by Hotel Landmark, one of the best hotels. because some players have become unwell. As reported by the Times of India, Shukla stated, “Idhar udhar se koi infection aa gaya hoga (They may have contracted an infection), and we are handling it.”

Rajeev Shukla went into additional detail about the logistical difficulties encountered during the series, highlighting Kanpur’s scarcity of several five-star hotels.

“There aren’t many hotels, which is the problem. A five-star hotel with the 300 rooms we require is not available. There isn’t a 24-hour international airport in the region.

They would have had an edge if better plans had been made, Rajeev Shukla stated.

at the third and final unofficial ODI at Kanpur, India A defeated Australia A by two wickets to complete a 2-1 series victory. Australia A was bowled out for 316 in 49.1 overs after choosing to bat first. With a quick 89 off 74 balls, Jack Edwards took the lead, but Cooper Connolly (64 off 49) and Liam Scott (73 off 64) also contributed significantly.
