Rahul Dravid talks about how he uses fast bowling, planned mistakes, and shot choice after the WTC final.
After losing to Australia by 209 runs in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021–23 final at the Oval in London, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, talked about the huge loss and what happened.

Despite the fact that it was cloudy, Team India decided to bowl first, which put them in a difficult situation. The Australians took advantage of this and put on a great show in the first game, finishing with a huge total of 469 runs.

After completely beating India in the important match, the team’s head coach, Dravid, regretted his team’s poor approach with the ball on Day 1 and said Travis Head’s great century changed the way the game went.

“Yeah, that was hard. We’ve seen that we have to keep fighting, no matter how far behind we are. We have fought and come back from defeat before. In two days, we put up a good fight. “We needed an outstanding performance,” Rahul Dravid said on Star Sports.

“It wasn’t a catch for 469 runs. I think that the runs we have scored have trickled down to the lower middle order. That is a thing. We knew what line and length we had to bowl, but we didn’t bowl the right line. We gave Travis Head space, and he made the most of it. I feel that at that stage, we went behind. “Maybe we could have been more careful with a few shots in the second inning,” he said.

The Aussies lost important players like David Warner, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne on Day 1. Head’s great batting came at a time when the Aussies were down by a lot. In his 174-ball score of 163, the southpaw hit aggressively, hitting 25 fours and one six. He also worked with Steve Smith to score 285 runs, which kept the Australians in the lead.

After the convincing win at tWTChe Oval, Head was also named Player of the Match. In doing so, Australia became the first team to win all three types of ICC championships.
