In a terrible vehicle accident in December 2022, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant sustained numerous wounds. The batsman has showed remarkable discipline and determination in his treatment, and although though it was previously believed that he would require at least 18 months to fully heal, he has begun practising in the nets just eight months after the tragedy.
According to sources, the southpaw is playing 140 kph-plus deliveries with no trouble at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), but even so, he is not ready to make his comeback to professional cricket. He’s currently getting used to tiny motions of his body.
The NCA staff has expressed amazement at Pant’s progress, and if he continues to improve at the same rate, he might return sooner rather than later. Pant is overcoming every obstacle and will soon start working on his next aim, according to a source familiar with the development.
“Rishabh is recovering really well. He has begun to accept deliveries at speeds greater than 140 kmph. We are all thrilled with how he has been overcoming each obstacle to rehabilitation. He’s doing quite fine. We want to do this in the coming months,” an NCA source told RevSportz. “His next goal will be to concentrate on greater and quicker body motions.
KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer want to be fully fit
Prior to the Asia Cup 2023, becoming fit was the original goal for both KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Both cricket players put in a lot of training time with that objective in mind, and they have now begun practising batting in the nets. They are not, however, yet prepared to play in international cricket.
KL Rahul might recuperate prior to the intra-continental cup, while Iyer would require a little more time. Nothing is decided, though, as the NCA and BCCI are evaluating their progress one day at a time. Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson are anticipated to fill in for them if either of them is unable to recover, according to the team management.
