Rachin Ravindra calls Virat Kohli's wicket late on Day 3 as game changer

Rachin Ravindra, meanwhile, talked about his thoughts on Kohli’s century knock and his experience playing at Bengaluru’s storied M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

New Zealand’s star remarked on his team’s performance on Day 3 of the first Test on Friday. Notably, Team India got off to a cautious start after the visitors gained a huge lead. Before Jaiswal’s death due to some outstanding Kiwi fielding, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma were looking good.

Virat Kohli, the top batsman for India, was once again the number three batsman. Following an early vigil this time, Kohli began sucking runs and blasting a few boundaries in an attempt to score runs fast and dominate the spin bowlers on a surface where spinners were predicted to play a significant role as the game went on. Kohli was looking strong as he approached his century, while Rohit was dismissed in a really regrettable way.

To end India’s run deficit act on a low note, though, New Zealand’s golden arm Glenn Phillips caught Kohli behind wickets by Tom Blundell moments before stumps were called. Similarly, Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, who is of Indian descent, expressed his opinions over Virat Kohli’s firing. With Sarfaraz Khan and Kohli putting on a crucial 136-run partnership, India was aiming to end the day without losing any wickets. However, with Kohli’s wicket, the visitors appear to have recovered in the opening match of the series.

“We still have runs on the board, and Virat is an excellent player. It was huge.” After Day 3 ended, Ravindra remarked, “We know that things happen in this part of the world.”

However, this did not stop Kohli from making history by being the fourth Indian to surpass the 9000-run barrier in Test cricket. The other three Indian giants who have accomplished this feat previously are Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, and Sachin Tendulkar.

Always grateful for the Bangalore crowd’s support: Rachin Ravindra

The young player disclosed that he was concentrating on forming alliances with his teammates and that previous captain Tim Southee had given him great feedback on his batting, which made his job on the opposite side of the crease simpler.

After 12 years on Indian soil, Rachin Ravindra achieved the remarkable feat of scoring a century for New Zealand. He hit an incredible 134 runs off 157 balls after arriving at number four. Thirteen boundaries and four sixes were among his magnificent knocks.

His efforts caused New Zealand to give India a 356-run deficit. In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Bengaluru supporters for their enthusiastic turnout and strong support, which is similar to that shown for Indian athletes. He also disclosed that his father and other family members attended the event, adding to the significance of his century.

“I suppose I was merely attempting to form alliances, and my collaboration with Timmy (Tim Southee) was incredibly beneficial. There’s a great wicket out there.

Yes, even though the wicket is altered, it’s still pleasant to play here. Ravindra said, “I always appreciate the support from the Bangalore crowd, and it’s great [to have my father and family around].”
