Following the unsatisfactory performance of cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, renowned Indian player R Ashwin expressed his dissatisfaction. After playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for seven years, from 2009 to 2015, the off-spinner rejoined them.
He was purchased by the Men in Yellow for INR 9.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, and they anticipated that he would use all of his experience to perform. However, R Ashwin only took seven wickets at an average of 40.42 in nine games. For the first time in IPL history, CSK ended their season at the bottom of the points table this year.
According to Hindustan Times, a fan said on Ashwin’s YouTube page, “Hey dear R Ashwin, with lots of love, please leave my lovely CSK family.”
“I love the team much more than any of you, and I have the team’s best interests at heart. In 2009 and 2010, I was a member of the team. I’ve been playing for seven years. I’ve previously made it to the playoffs with CSK. The title is mine. For the first time, I feel sorry when I see a champion like this. That makes me sad. I’m crying while sitting in a corner because of this. What should I do next? “This is my objective,” Ashwin said in response to the statement.
I have a lot of things to work on: R Ashwin
The right-arm bowler admitted to having trouble with the ball and wants to provide additional choices so that he can make a great return the next season. Despite frequently taking the new ball for CSK this season, R Ashwin was unable to have an effect. He was removed from the starting lineup in the second part of the season due to his subpar performances.
“Don’t assume that this campaign will be a failure. What I am able to control. I will bowl if you give me the ball, and I will bat if you offer me a bat. Despite my extensive effort, I am well aware of the areas in which I can improve. I have allowed a lot of runs to be scored during the powerplay. “Next year, I need to come up with more options so I can bowl in the powerplay,” R Ashwin added.
