As they made a strong comeback in the five-match T20I series, England defeated India by a margin of 26 runs in Rajkot in the third Twenty20 International. Similar to the second game, Adil Rashid proved to be England’s most economical bowler, giving up just 15 runs in his allotted four overs.
In the third match, he only managed to take out Tilak Varma.
Many, including former Indian cricketer R Ashwin, were amazed by the way the leg-spinner caused the removal, and he praised Rashid’s cunning on X (previously Twitter).
Absolute seed🔥🔥.
Scrambled seam and serious side spin.

🏏 What made Tilak Varma’s dismissal against Adil Rashid so unplayable ❓#Cricket #INDvsENG @ECB_cricket @BCCI pic.twitter.com/4ydJgV7cl8

England had the hosts on the ropes going into the run-chase after scoring 171 runs and continuing to chip away with consistent breakthroughs. Not a single Indian batter was able to take up residence on the crease. Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse, both pacers, took a few wickets each. Jamie Overton made amends by taking three wickets in the first innings after he had copping a golden duck.
With 40 off 35, Hardik Pandya led India in scoring. Only Abhishek Sharma managed to achieve more than 20 points, aside from him. Varun Chakravarthy claimed his second T20I wicket of the match earlier in the match after tearing down the English batting order. After giving up 46 runs in his four overs, Ravi Bishnoi turned out to be the most costly of the group.
