After the league was temporarily suspended, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) thanked all the pertinent parties. PBKS expressed gratitude to Indian Railways, the BCCI, the IPL, and all other officials for making sure that everyone on the squad had a smooth journey.
On May 8, while playing the Delhi Capitals (DC), the team captained by Shreyas Iyer was in Dharamsala. After PBKS decided to bat first, they were 122 for 1 in 10.1 overs when the stadium’s floodlights abruptly went out. Therefore, on May 9, the BCCI declared the league’s one-week suspension and urged the fans to vacate the stadium.

In their Instagram post, PBKS expressed their sincere gratitude to the BCCI, IPL, Indian Railways, Police, State Authorities, and their internal operations team for making sure that players, coaches, families, and support staff from the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings were transported safely from Dharamsala to a secure location.
