Due to recurrent concussions, Australian batter Will Pucovski has enlisted the services of a law firm to create an early retirement plan. In 2017, the 26-year-old played 36 red-ball matches for Victoria, making his first-class debut. At an average of 45.19, he scored 2350 runs. Additionally, he made one appearance for Australia against India in the Sydney Test of 2021, scoring 62 and 10. Usman Khawaja came back, and Pucovski was never given another chance as the contest concluded on even terms.
When David Warner retired, Pucovski was considered as a potential replacement, but the club management chose to start Steve Smith at the top of the order. Medical professionals have recommended Pucovski retire less than a year later after he was struck severely in the head during a Sheffield Shield game in March 2024. Riley Meredith’s bouncer struck him because he was unable to time it.
According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Will Pucovski solicitors are in communication with Cricket Victoria over the terms of his retirement and the remuneration to which he is eligible.
The Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) and Cricket Australia (CA) are also involved in the conversation. Nevertheless, Pucovski’s contract, which expires at the end of the current season, means that Cricket Victoria is not legally required to pay him any more.
He is currently looking into a number of solutions, however Australian cricket does not have the same clear concussion regulations as other sports like rugby and football. Due to the problem, the opener has not yet made an official decision; an announcement is anticipated only once he has secured his future.

In 14 List A games, Pucovski has also participated and amassed 333 runs. It’s interesting to note that he didn’t play in any Big Bash League or T20 matches.
