Quetta Gladiators’ Saud Shakeel batted the full 20 overs and finished with 33* off 40 balls, one of the most odd knocks in T20 cricket history. His team finished with 119/9 in a run chase of 176 to lose by 56 runs.
Quetta lost a few of wickets early on when Shakeel opened the batting, falling to 37/5 during the powerplay. Shakeel, who finished the powerplay at 13* off 11 balls, then pulled on the handbrakes fully, adding just 20 off his next 29 balls while batting out the whole 20 overs.
After hitting two boundaries in the first three overs, Saud Shakeel astonishingly failed to knock another one until the beginning of the 16th over, which was likewise a top-edge off Hasan Ali’s bowling.
The slowest knock by a batter in the PSL in the last five years is Shakeel’s 33* off 40.

Overall, Quetta’s batting performance was dismal. Mohammad Amir was their best batsman of the evening, hitting 30 off 16 balls, while just three other batters reached double figures. Before Amir’s appearance, Quetta had scored 67/7 in 14 overs.
