“Process-driven” New Zealand seeks to activate Test mode in Bangladesh, a spin-friendly environment.

After the ODI World Cup, New Zealand players stayed in Dubai for a while before coming together once more in Bangladesh.

Cricketer Glenn Phillips of New Zealand thinks the side won’t have any trouble transitioning to red-ball cricket when they play Bangladesh in a two-match series, despite only having played ODI cricket for the past two months. According to Phillips, the team members all have faith in the process; therefore, regardless of the structure, they will work hard to achieve success.

Surprisingly, the majority of the players who competed in the Test series also competed in the ODI World Cup, where India defeated New Zealand by a score of 70 runs in the semifinals at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

In addition, the Tim Southee-led team hasn’t participated in a Test match in almost nine months. As a result, the Kiwi players may find it challenging, particularly while playing away from home in Bangladesh’s spin-friendly conditions.

The all-round player, however, denied the complaint and said the youngsters were ready to leave after getting some sleep and spending time with their families. Phillips went on to say that the important thing is to go play cricket in the park as best you can, regardless of whether the ball is red or white.

Ultimately, many of the lads are very process-oriented. The procedure is the same whether it’s Test cricket or something else. It’s merely a game with a white or red ball when you get to the field. For us, that means staying in the center and carrying out our current approach.

“The guys’ few days in Dubai were enjoyable. After being rejuvenated, a few of us visited our relatives at home. Phillips as stating, “I thought it was really good to have this sort of break and come out here refreshed before a Test series, especially after the World Cup.”

The first Test of the two-match series will take place at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on November 28. The second Test will take place in Dhaka at Shere Bangla National Stadium.
