The eight-team tournament’s victor will get $2.24 million in addition to the trophy they will lift on March 9th, marking the first time the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy has been held since 2017.

The total prize fund is 6.9 million dollars, a 53% increase from the 2017 edition, with the runners-up taking home 1.12 million dollars and the losing semi-finalists taking home 560,000 dollars each.

At the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, every game matters.

As the winning side receives over $34,000 for each group match victory. The fifth and sixth-place teams will each receive $350,000, while the seventh and eighth-place teams will receive $140,000.

Additionally, each of the eight teams participating in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 will get a guaranteed $125,000. The exciting two-week competition, which will feature matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, is the first international cricket tournament to be held in Pakistan since 1996.

The eight teams are split into two groups of four for this year’s event, and the top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.

The world’s top eight ODI sides will compete in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy every four years, while the Women’s Champions Trophy will debut in 2027 in a T20 format.

“The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is a significant event for cricket, bringing back a competition that showcases the best ODI players, where every game matters,” stated ICC Chair Jay Shah. The significant prize fund demonstrates the ICC’s continued dedication to supporting the sport and upholding the games’ international renown. Beyond the monetary reward, this competition sparks intense rivalry, enthralls spectators everywhere, and is essential to the development and long-term viability of cricket for next generations.
