Press release on Abhishek Nayar and support staff departure is promised by the BCCI secretary.

The BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia, has revealed that the board will be letting go of some of its support staff members, including Abhishek Nayar, T Dilip, and Soham Desai, when their current terms are up.

Following the incident, Saikia verified the latest events and the Indian board’s measures at a press conference. Additionally, for everyone’s reference, an official statement on the subject may be released. He also promised to confirm the news by issuing a press release on behalf of BCCI.

“A few items are being finished. In a few days, you will receive a press note from BCCI,” News18 reported Saikia as adding.

Both the Fielding Coach and the Indian Assistant Coach are yet to be replaced. Adrian Le Roux, who presently works for PBKS and previously worked for BCCI, has apparently taken the job of the S&C Coach. A week ago, the three were told that BCCI was leaving them. It stated that before India’s visit to England, there might not be any fresh hires.

“It was communicated to Abhishek Nayar, Dilip, and Soham last week. According to an Indian Express story, the Indian board will not be appointing any new members at this time.

Support staff are let go by BCCI after the BGT loss review.

Even when Rahul Dravid was in charge, the three were employed by the BCCI. However, they are probably going to leave because of the decrease in support staff. Following India’s defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI held a conference with prominent players including Saikia, Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar, and Rohit Sharma.

The functions of the coaching staff were among the important topics covered in the review meeting.

Sitanshu Kotak was hired as the Indian Batting Coach as a result of Abhishek Nayar inability to support the batting unit during the BGT 2024–2025.

“While the BCCI didn’t act immediately but they brought in Kotak, the former Saurashtra run accumulator, it was a way of sidelining Abhishek Nayar during the Champions Trophy,” a source told News18.
