Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings, celebrated the team’s five-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on X.
Preity Zinta was present at the event and was thrilled when PBKS crossed the finish line after a difficult run-chase.
With the remark, “Wow, what a victory,” she shared PBKS’ X post on her feed. “Aa gaye oye Punjabi.” Preity Zinta has only ever been to one IPL final, which was PBKS’ (formerly KXIP) debut match versus Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru in 2014, which ended tragically for the George Bailey-led team.
Wow what a win 👊 Punjabi aa gaye oye ❤️@PunjabKingsIPL

In relation to Qualifier 2, Shreyas Iyer’s brilliantly timed, undefeated 41-ball 87 helped his team defeat the five-time champions in a thrilling match. He hit five fours and eight sixes in his explosive innings. MI gave PBKS a target of 204 runs.
Nehal Wadhera (48 off 29) and Kyle Jamieson (1/30 in four overs) were PBKS’s other notable players. In the end, PBKS won the league phase with 19 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +0.372.
On Tuesday, June 3, PBKS will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the same location as Qualifier 2. Both teams would be itching to win their first trophy after eighteen seasons and put up a strong performance when it counts most.
