In WODIs, Pratika Rawal became the first Indian woman to accomplish 1,000 runs in the fastest amount of time, leaving her mark on history. In one-day internationals, she became the joint-fastest person to reach the milestone, surpassing even Smriti Mandhana. When Rawal scored 15 against New Zealand Women in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, she achieved 1,000 runs.
Throughout the competition, the Indian opener has been in poor form, scoring 31, 37, 21, 7, and 5 in the main event thus far. She and former Australian batter Lindsay Reeler now share the record of reaching the four-digit milestone in just 23 innings. Meg Lanning and Nicole Bolton are also on the list; under the 50-over format, they each needed 25 innings to attain the same milestone.
In 28 games since her debut in 2024, Pratika Rawal has scored over 1000 runs, averaging nearly 50 in the One-Day format.
She is one of the most dependable and steady openers for Indian women, having scored one hundred and seven fifties. Her ability to anchor innings and her exceptional consistency have made her an essential part of India’s batting lineup.
Earlier this year, Pratika Rawal became the fastest player to reach 500 runs in Women’s ODIs, overtaking former England captain Charlotte Edwards. In the second game of a tri-national series in Sri Lanka, she reached the milestone by hitting 78 from 91 balls against South Africa. She did it in just eight innings, one less than Edwards’ nine innings.
With a victory on Thursday, October 23, India can guarantee a spot in the semifinals, while New Zealand will have to wait until the league’s last round of games. But winning the match against India would be a big step in that direction. In an attempt to advance in the competition, India Women will play Bangladesh Women in their last group encounter on October 26.
