Prasidh Krishna Replaced by Concussion Sub in IND A vs AUS A

At the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, September 24, on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test, Prasidh Krishna was hit in the helmet by Henry Thornton as he attempted to play a pull shot off a short ball.

The right-arm seamer Yash Thakur took the place of the Karnataka speedster because to a concussion. In the 39th over of India A’s innings, Krishna was struck on the helmet by Thornton’s short delivery. He attempted to make contact but was unable to draw the crisp delivery. Krishna proceeded to bat following the required concussion examination.

But after the 42nd over, Mohammed Siraj, the replacement batter, entered as Krishna started to head back towards the dressing room. Following the dismissal of B Sai Sudharsan, the concussion substitute Thakur came out as the final batter, replacing Krishna in the playing XI. This happened when India A was eight down at the loss of Siraj’s wicket. Gurnoor Brar then entered at No. 11.

Prasidh Krishna five overs in the second innings, conceding only four runs.

The national selectors will meet later on Wednesday to choose the team for the two-match Test series against the West Indies at home, however it is unclear how serious Krishna’s injury is. Along with pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna is anticipated to be included in the squad. On October 2, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosted the opening Test match between India and the West Indies.

In the red-ball matches against Australia A, Krishna did not have a fantastic time. He bowled 16 overs and gave up 86 runs without taking a wicket in the opening match. In the second match, Prasidh Krishna conceded 76 runs in 17 overs while taking just one wicket in Australia’s opening innings. Since the Anderson-Tendulkar Test series in England ended in early August, this is the Bengaluru native’s first competitive assignment.

Australia A scored 420 in the first innings before India A was knocked out for 194 in 52.5 overs. India A’s best scorer, Sai Sudharsan, hit 75 off 140 balls.
