Players' prize money for the 2023 ODI World Cup is not delayed, according to BCB, despite claims to the contrary

Recently, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) released a statement dispelling speculations that had been going around claiming that Bangladesh’s players will not be paid for their participation in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The players from Bangladesh were reportedly still unpaid nine months after the competition ended, according to ODI speculations.

Nevertheless, the BCB clarified that taxing procedures and compliance problems, not any fault of the board, were the cause of the payment delay.

They further disclosed that following significant ICC events, these kinds of delays are typical and there is nearly always a resolution offered. In addition, their statement stated that the BCB is guaranteeing the players’ credit by using other expedient steps.

“On this issue, the BCB fiercely condemns the allegations of malpractice made by the concerned councillor and vehemently refutes the incorrect assertions made by them. The statement said, “These accusations are unfounded and compromise the integrity of the BCB’s activities.

In addition, because of the political turmoil in the nation, the BCB is currently in a difficult situation. The BCB is doing everything within its power to keep playing cricket, nevertheless, in spite of the political unrest.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will play a series in the near future.

Speaking about assignments on the field, Bangladesh will play a two-game Test series against Pakistan. Both teams are on a tour of Pakistan and will square off in the opening Test on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh will be eager to return to the pitch because their most recent match was during the T20 World Cup in 2024.
